These two are just about the coolest cats you’re ever likely to meet. EVER! They’re also two of the nicest guys you’re ever likely to meet. EVER!
Jacob (with the funky haircut) has been here in Sydney for around a year and a half studying, and his little bro Jose has been here since December time I think. Sad news is though, that they are heading back to Colombia this weekend. I’ve had the pleasure of chatting with them quite a few times and you may recognise Jacob from a picture I had of him on here a month or so ago. He studied Graphic Design when he was back in Colombia and he’s got a growing passion for photography too. He’s really into his music, as you can probably tell from looking at him, and he wants to get into photographing bands and events.
I got speaking to them last Thursday and we decided that we would go out and shoot together on the Friday. Jacob wanted to know a little about lenses (he just has the kit lens right now) so I thought it would be a good chance for him to try out some of my primes, and I thought it would be nice to get some photos of them together in Australia before they go back home. Plus of course, I knew that getting good photos of these guys would just be too easy. I mean, have you ever seen anyone with such awesome tattoos?! (My mate Mike back in the UK has ‘Big Toe’ tattooed on his big toe, that comes a close second)
We got together about 2.30pm and spent a couple of hours wandering around the Surry Hills suburb where there is a nice mix of side streets and parks. They were both great to photograph and really cool to hang around with, especially with Jacob being into photography too. I’m just gutted that I haven’t had chance to hang out and get to know them them more before they head back home. If I ever get round to visiting South America though I’ll definitely make time to go and visit.
