The Wedding
Jen & Andy are originally from San Francisco and had me over to Hawaii (The Big Island!) for their Fairmont Orchid Hawaii Wedding. Their ceremony was actually 3000ft up in the mountains at a ranch, so I guess that also makes it a Kahua Ranch wedding. It was pretty crazy to go from blazing sunshine down at the hotel to find rain & fog delaying the ceremony up in the mountains; it kinda reminded me of country NSW and definitely not your ‘typical’ Hawaii wedding which Andy & Jen were shying way from anyway.
When I shot my first Australian wedding after moving over from the UK, I remember sitting outside the reception eating my meal as the sun set & thinking how bloody lucky I am to get to visit these amazing places and be involved in the biggest day of peoples lives. I had the very same feeling on this day watching the sun drop over the volcanic hills of Hawaii. Amazing!
